I am no longer posting my art actively here on dA. However I continue to draw, paint and create, sharing in other places. If you would like to follow my work and see what I am doing now, please come along with me on my art journey... message me and I will send you my professional links. (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, personal website)

To my followers and friends: Thank you for all the interactions over the years, the comments, favourites and watches. I will still remain on dA however! Lurking, watching your art, managing groups!

Thank you deviantART for being the first site I could publicly share my art on all those years ago! I joined on the 3rd of July 2008! Also this is where I met my significant other, so thank you for that also!

Link to a journal I did mentioning friends I made here over the last 11 years: A mention of some special people on dA!

I was going through my old work in my gallery here, and read through the comments as well. It made me realise there were a few people who have been with me from the start, complimenting my work and inspiring me. I have been on deviantART for nearly 10 years nowdeviantART

So I felt I should mention these friends. To you all; I would like to say thank you for being there through all those years, even if you no longer use dA, even if you don't remember commenting on my art, even if you don't see this, and even if I don't communicate with you enough, I still appreciate your interactions with me and my art! :)

You are the ones who commented countless times over the many years! So thank you, once again for being a part of my art journey!

I am sorry if I missed anyone, so just in case; a thank you to all my watchers who commented on my work, I really do appreciate it! :)

I also found that some of my favourite artists that I looked up to years ago commented on a few of my things and inspired me further!
Sythgara  Garthim Soldier, Dark Crystal by Glaiceana Commented here first and on a few others, thank you!
D17rulez  Raziel by Glaiceana Altair by Glaiceana An amazing pencil artist, you gave me advice on these that I will never forget to this day!
Cloister  Zergling by Glaiceana <da:thumb id="355980305"/> My favourite creature artist, you commented here and helped later down the line more extensively on the second image.
eumartleon also belongs here too, since you helped me with my clouds and gave me that brush that I still have, though I have already mentioned you :)

It was very humbling going through my old work and seeing all these names again! Thank you all, I really do hope you see this, if you are still here on dA, if not maybe you will come back one day and see!

Wow! So sometime last night, my dA page hit 30,000 views. I'm quite amazed at that. Just a shoutout to all my watchers and people who have come here at some point, thank you for following me and viewing my art!

I have recorded a new drawing video, this time it is of a Chinese Dragon, here it is below:

Latest deviation! A new creature/environment painting.

In other news, I'm looking for another job, as my contract as a 3D artist is over, so looking for the next thing :) Job searching can be tedious, but its obviously worth all the effort you put in.

Just a mention of my dA groups here:

Minotaur by Glaiceana   Latest dragon. by Glaiceana
I would like to share these two very old drawings as they are the first I uploaded to dA! These show my level of skill back in 2009! Lets see how I have improved over my time on dA...

Xenomorph by Glaiceana   Surveyor by Glaiceana
These are two of my best drawings more recently, I think I have improved a great deal in 5 years.

Random Speed Paint by Glaiceana  Dragon in Photoshop by Glaiceana
And here are two of my first digital paintings. Lets see how my painting improved over the years as well...

These are some of my best digital paintings.

Overall I'm pleased with how I've improved over the years and deviantART has been a great way to showcase this, and has also been a great way of meeting fellow artists and friends who have helped give critique and encouragement for my art as well!

Just thought that I'd do a bigger journal entry, kind of an update, discussion and feature sort of.
So recently I have managed to overcome my reluctance of doing a proper dragon drawing. This is kind of a big step for me, since while I love dragons, and I used to draw them a lot when I was younger, I stopped drawing them once I realised that I couldn't get them to look like how they did in my head. If you compare this new dragon "Surveyor" to my old old drawing of a fire dragon, I think you can see I've come a long way, and yet you can still spot similarities lol. Mainly its the heads that I was always extremely picky with, they have to be just right, and it was very difficult to get them to look the same on paper as they were in my mind :D

Also, I'd like to make comparisons to show improvement over the years, more for my own sake than anything.

Here is the first drawing I uploaded to dA! Minotaur by Glaiceana Drawn on the 29th January 2009! Looking at it now, I can see how its pretty bad xD Extremely flat, little tonal variation and some pretty terrible perspective problems xD As well as some scary anatomy mishaps :D

And now my latest drawing: Surveyor by Glaiceana Which I'm quite proud of, there's still plenty of things to improve on however.

Also, I've noticed my developments in digital paintings.
This one being my first "good" painting Random Speed Paint by Glaiceana Uploaded in December 2010. And comparing that to this latest one Mountain Cave by Glaiceana
Hopefully I can continue to improve the more I practice, since I really want to get better at environment paintings!

I also wanted to feature a few artists I have stumbled upon recently :)
First off is :iconartbypaulfisher: paulsgruff. He has a really awesome and interesting style with coloured pencils! Also good attention to detail and a great colour sense :)
And of course my best friend :iconookami-seishin: Ookami-Seishin. She has awesome photography work, you can look through all the interesting photos all day :D
Also :iconambientdream: ambient dream. She has beautiful illustrations and a lot of them remind me of some books I read in my child hood.
And finally :iconalextooth: Alex Tooth. I love his environment paintings, they are very inspiring :)
I could probably go on all day featuring people, but you all know there's awesome artists out there, so go have a look and you'll find them :D

We have had some crazy amounts of snow here, we don't really get much in the UK, usually we get about 2 inches deep if we are lucky and only for a day or two. But this year we have had very heavy snowfall and its been awesome :) I also managed to get some snowboarding clothes in preparation of learning once I'm done at University :)  I built a giant snow snake in the garden, since that particular night the snow wouldn't stick properly so I couldn't make things like snow men lol.
Some friends at Uni made King Kong in the snow, and they actually got featured in the news with it :D

Anyway, Uni is going fine, I have lots of work to be doing and I'm improving all the time, can't wait to start on my final major project. I'll be making a game level of an alien jungle, since I want to be an environment/creature artist :)

I need to record some more drawing videos for my youtube channel, I'm a little busy, but I'll see if I can get a new one done soon :) Hope everyone is having a good day/week/month :D
